Imogen Lamport never disappoints. There is a great deal of solid, easy to follow advice for even non petites. I am also a big fan of her website. This book gives you a nice overview which you can build upon by accessing her website.She is the clearest writer writing about choosing clothes and accessories that work with your shape, age, coloring and taste. She often uses easy-to-follow mathematical formulas for deciding things like where to wear your necklaces, sleeves, jackets etc. It may seem confining, but these formulas actually work.
She has a larger vocabulary of shape types than most dress-for-your-shape books. For example, she uses 2 different "hourglass" shapes: an "8" and an "X" which are at their best when dressed slightly differently. She also answers the age-old question: are you a "V" shape if you have a large bust but small shoulders or large shoulders and a small bust?
I gave this book 5 stars even though I'm not technically petite, but I do have a narrow frame, delicate features and a short waist, and I found a wealth of useful information. I would think this would be a must have book for anyone who actually is petite, but even larger women would probably get their money's worth from this book.

It's a great book for young petite women. I really learned a lot. Maybe more real examples or images would be useful.
Every woman should read this to understand what suits her and why.
It's really a must have for petites . It goes further about clothes and accessories that make you look the best. I recommend it.
Great book, full of practical tips. With this book I've managed to determine what body shape I am and understand what styles suit me. I feel fab with the clothes I put together now and don't feel frustrated with nothing to wear every time I look in the wardrobe. Imogen is clever to have sussed the style rules out and present it in a book that's easy to understand. I have read gok wan and trinny and sussanah books but this is the one I always come back to.
Found real life suggestions I am now using. The smallest alteration brings my body into balance and proportion. When u loose inches over the decades everything that worked in career and life dressing no longer gave me the proportioned look I needed. Did the three piles, give away, donate and keep to alter or add to. Just shopping in my closet and following the book's directions has given me a "ready to go wardrobe" again. Great book !
